2019 Showings

West Side Story - March 28. Romeo and Juliet is updated to the tenements of New York City in this Oscar-winning musical landmark. Ten Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (George Chakiris), Best Supporting Actress (Rita Moreno), and Best Director.
Tootsie - April 25. Michael Dorsey (Dustin Hoffman), a brilliant but troublesome New York actor, has managed to alienate every producer on both coasts. Dorsey hears of an opening on a popular soap opera, he applies for the job--even though the job is for a woman. Michael ultimately finds that his disguise as a woman has made him a better man. Academy Award Winner Best Supporting Actress Jessica Lange.
American Graffiti - May 23. It's the last night of summer 1962, and the teenagers of Modesto, California, want to have some fun before adult responsibilities close in.
The Black Stallion - June 27. This beautifully mounted adaptation of Walter Farley's story for children tells the tale of Alec (Kelly Reno), a young boy touring the world with his adventurous salesman father (Hoyt Axton).
Jaws - July 25. Based on Peter Benchley's best-selling novel, Steven Spielberg's 1975 shark saga set the standard for the New Hollywood popcorn blockbuster while frightening millions of moviegoers out of the water.
The Shawshank Redemption - August 22. In 1946, a banker named Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is convicted of a double murder, even though he stubbornly proclaims his innocence. He's sentenced to a life term at the Shawshank State Prison in Maine. Andy does not crack: he has the hope of the truly innocent, which (together with his smarts) allow him to prevail behind bars. There will be a special display of the Ohio connections!
