Outreach Services

Outreach Services provides library materials to people who are unable to leave their residences because of physical disabilities, regardless if they still live at home, in a rehabilitation hospital, or an assisted living center. Outreach Services also delivers book collections to daycare centers, nursery schools, and licensed home childcare providers who provide services to preschool children.

The Outreach Department of Birchard Library serves residents of Sandusky County.

Services for the Blind,
Visually Impaired,
and Physically Handicapped

 

Birchard Public Library is a cooperating library with The State Library of Ohio’s Talking Book Department. Through this service, recorded books, magazines, and playback equipment are loaned free of charge to the blind or physically handicapped patron.

Services for Homebound Adults

 

Staff provide personalized services to individuals who reside at home, in nursing homes and assisted living centers and qualify as homebound.

Home Care Providers

 

Providers of child care in the home located in Sandusky County and licensed by the Sandusky County Department of Job & Family Services may apply.
Services for Preschool Centers The Outreach Department provides age-appropriate book collections to daycare centers and nursery schools in Sandusky County on a 3-week delivery and pick-up schedule.
